Reset iPod to factory reset without password

I forgot the password for my iPod, how do I reset my iPod if it doesn't show up when I connect to my laptop

See If you can't update or restore your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple SupportT and/or try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community.
