what angle does a 2020 macbook pro screen open to?

just had cracked screen replaced on a MacBook pro 2021. got it home then noticed that it now only opens to about 120 degrees. i called apple to ask what angle it should be. the guy i spoke to said, "the angle varies". good job he wasn't designing the james webb telescope ..... although amusingly his name was also james.

i'm now waiting on hold while he goes to find out the answer to this astonishingly simple question.

i have another MacBook pro (earlier version) that seems to open to about 135 degrees.....which would make sense as 90 + 45 = 135 (i'm assuming it's a standard midway point). james just came back and said, "there's no 'set' angle'...."

this is clearly not true since all apple products are identical in their dimensions. of course i understand that components vary in size at the very very small level....but not enough to change the angle more than a fraction of a degree.....

so i said, "what if it doesn't open to more than 1 degree....."? then he got defensive.....so i asked to speak to a supervisor. imagine buying a car to fit your garage and the manufacturer not being able to tell you how long the car is. ridiculous. being transferred to 'sales' now as the advisor said he was only trained in software. spoke to cristina in sales. she's gone to find out. it took a while for her to understand the question. she came back with an answer. 135 degrees. that took me over an hour.
