3 problems with Mail

I cannot receive emails where I was cc'ed in. Any idea how to change that ?

How can I turn off the 'follow up' emails that keep on appearing in my Inbox.

Mail is lagging all the type the. I type in emails addresses, it take a second or 2 to cash up. That is not normal.

Advisor cut me off. Phone help when pressing button 1 to proceed not working either.

Hi Queen of Grapes,

There is not a default setting in Mac Mail that would filter out or stop you from receiving emails you were CC'd on. To clarify, if you check your mail on the web, are the missing emails there? If they're not coming in at all, it's likely an issue with your email provider. On the other hand if they ARE visible on the web but not in Mac Mail, make sure you don't have a rule set up that somehow filters them. Rules are custom created and have a lot of leverage in how you're able to create them. You can check for rules under Mail > Preferences > Rules.

Regarding the second issue, that is much more straightforward. Under Mail > Preferences > General, you should see a prompt for "Enable message follow up suggestions". If that's on, toggle it off.

Finally, if the app is slow or lagging, is it only in Mail or system wide? If you notice sluggishness across the system, boot your Mac up into safe mode and test there as well. Do things run slowly in safe mode, or after you boot into safe mode and then restart again to exit it?

Let us know and we'll continue from there.

Cheers!

Hi Queen of Grapes,

To confirm, are you seeing the emails you've been CCed on at the mail provider's website? If so, check to see if you have any Rules set up that may be prohibiting the CCed emails from coming through to your inbox. Go to Mail > Settings and click Rules. Try adjusting or changing the rules there.

Did you try restarting your Mac in safe mode as previously suggested? Safe mode isn't a remedy as much as it is an isolation tool. This potentially can help fix resolve issues when the Mail app is loading slowly.

Take care.

Dear Derek

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Firstly, there is no preferences under mail. Only accounts and settings etc.

The messages are apparently visible at the service provider.

Secondly, done and fine now. Thank you.

Thirdly, it is only Mail that is lagging. Nothing else. The I start typing an address that has been saved previously, it tales a few seconds to catch up and complete it. This is not normal.

Sometimes, I close the application and then start it up again and it is a little faster but I never had this problem before. Could it be related to the OS ? Ventura 13.2.1

Kind Regards,

Iris
