Hello, all my Apple Maps favourites and guides that I had created disappeared posts recent update to iOS 16.4.1, anyone else facing the same issue? Appreciate inputs on how I can fix this issue, thanks!

This is a reply from this thread, by another user who also had this issue, and they claim these steps fixed the issue for them:

Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, and make sure that the toggle next to Maps is turned on. If it is turned off, turn it on and wait for a few minutes to see if your favorites and guides reappear...On my settings the toggle button was set to on. So, what I did was toggled the Maps off then back on waited a minute then launched the Apple Maps app and all My Guides reappeared.…”

I’m truly sorry to hear that. The only info on this issue can be found within this thread. Apple does not have a solution (as of now) to keep this from happening.
this has happened to me multiple times. i'm very annoyed. there is no connection to updates. it just happened again today within the course of me using my phone like normal. one minute they were there, the next they weren't
Apple Maps is dead to me after losing the guides I created not once, not twice but 3 times. This time mid vacation - no software update! They just were there and then they were gone. I am moving to google maps as this is the final straw after submitting this to apple and as usual being ignored.
And it’s not only Guides; it’s everything! Recents, Favourites, Guides, etc. Apple Maps is polished clean after whatever this is is done with it.
In my experience, simply restarting the device causes Maps to be polished like silverware. But I’m not sure if this happens to everyone who has this issue.

I know another user in a different thread said something along the same lines; although they suggested storing the Guides in Notes.
However, your contribution is still very welcome and appreciated.
What you could do, is start a new thread, with a well-chosen title, such as: “Deleted Guides in Maps: SOLVED!” and just copy-paste your post above.
And that’s about the most you can do in ASC.

I’m having a problem where my favorites, been here, want to go etc are all not showing on my map like they did before. I found them in a list by themselves, but they are not showing on the map with the red heart, etc. How can I fix this?
