App Store should notify if apps work in landscape mode

It would be nice if a notification could be added in the App Store that would tell if any app works in landscape mode. I am a quadriplegic, and my iPad is mounted in landscape mode on my table. Right now I have to download an app and try it to find out if it rotates to landscape mode. It would be great if the App Store it’s simply said “works in landscape mode”. It would also obviously be nice if more apps worked in landscape mode.

Permitting App Rotation:

Not all apps permit the option to rotate the screen. This is on the Developer --and nothing on Apple's end: Rotate the Screen on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support.

So, Recommend this to Apple:

Being not an option, recommend this to AppleApple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is their customers prefer, and what features to include in models to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Feature Request" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that you want this to be an option and why. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Given your situation, it may be of interest for you to know that if you have an iPad capable of supporting iPadOS16 Stage Manager - with this mode active - Apps that are coded to only operate in Portrait orientation are automatically rotated in Landscape-orientation within a Portrait window.

Stage Manager feature introduced with iPadOS 16.1 is only available for these models of iPad:

  • iPad Air (5th generation)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (all generations)
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)

iPad models supporting Stage Manager have an M2, M1 or A12X CPU (upon which the M-series CPUs are reportedly based) - with at least 8GB RAM.
