Grey photos in Camera roll

there are these six grey photos in my camera roll that I haven’t taken as I wasn’t on my phone the time these were taken. My account also doesn’t have any connected devices except this phone so there’s no way someone else took these. :\

If anyone has an answer to why this happened and how I can fix it or something that would be very much appreciated! :)

Yes I do have iCloud storage and share it with my family, there’s still a lot of space left though. Also me and my family don’t share photos (we don’t turn on shared library). I also used another wi fi connection/network but the photos still appear to be grey or have the ⚠️ symbol.

Hi yuki1212,

Do you use iCloud Photos? A greyed out photo may mean a photo that's stored in the cloud but iOS is having trouble accessing it.

If you tap on one of them, does a photo load in? Also, if you do use iCloud Photos, sign in at iCloud.com and check your photos there. Is there the same set of grey squares?

Let us know and we'll continue based on those details.

Cheers!

Hey yuki1212,

The exclamation point inside a triangle means one of two things. Either your connection isn’t strong enough to show the photo in iCloud (which is then synced to your iPhone) or your iCloud storage is full.

Here’s how to check the storage space in iCloud and reclaim some of it if that’s the issue: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

If you have enough iCloud storage, do you have another Wi-Fi network you could test with? If so, let us know the results.

All the best.

Thank you for responding! So yes I do use iCloud Photos but I don’t use shared library if that makes sense. Also when I tap on the photos its still grey. But when I see the photos in iCloud.com it just shows a warning logo. Also it looks like the date for the photo changed for me on the website as it shows that it was taken on 6:49 am Sunday on the website but on 11:49pm Saturday on the app. 😭

also I don’t know if this is valuable information for this issue but I left my phone charging on Saturday at like 11 pm to update.
