Notes app scan text

Hi I hope you can help. I updated to iOS 15.7.4 on iPhone 7. My notes app still does not provide the option to scan text. This says it should work with iOS 15.4 or later: Scan text and documents in Notes using the camera on iPhone - Apple Support

Note: I do not need to scan documents, but text.

I tried apple support which did not help at all… does anyone else have this issue?

It's possible that the scan text feature is not available on your iPhone 7. The feature is supported on devices with an A9 chip or later, which includes the iPhone 7 Plus but not the iPhone 7.

If you have confirmed that your device does support the scan text feature, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Make sure that the Notes app is updated to the latest version. You can check for updates in the App Store.
  2. Check that the "Scan Documents" option is turned on in your Notes app settings. To do this, open the Notes app, create a new note or open an existing one, tap the camera icon, and then tap "Scan Documents." If you see a message that says "Scan Documents is Off" at the bottom of the screen, tap it and turn on the toggle switch.
  3. Try force-quitting the Notes app and then reopening it. To force-quit an app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold until the App Switcher appears. Then, swipe left or right to locate the Notes app, and swipe up on the app to close it. Finally, tap on the Notes app icon to open it again.
  4. Restart your iPhone by pressing and holding the power button until the "slide to power off" message appears. Then, swipe the power off slider to the right to turn off your iPhone. Wait a few seconds, and then press and hold the power button again to turn on your iPhone.

If none of these steps work, you can try resetting your iPhone's settings. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Note that this will reset all of your iPhone's settings to their default values, so you will need to reconfigure them after the reset. If the issue persists, you may need to contact Apple support for further assistance.
