Blocking a contact from calling me

• Tap the Phone app
• Tap Recents
• Tap the i next to the number you want to block
• Scroll down and tap Block This Caller

Note that this blocks the number, not the person. If they call from a different phone number it won’t know to block them.

Even if you block a person, they can still get to your voicemail. It re-directs them directly to the voicemail. To fully block a contact, you’ll need to contact your carrier.

If you tap the i next to a name in Recents and you get a blank screen there is a serious hardware or software problem with your phone. This is what you should see, with Block This Caller at the bottom and their phone number at the top:

Landline doesn’t matter. Go to Settings/Phone. Make sure Dial Assist is enabled.

Do they appear in your Recents? Blocking on the phone cannot prevent them from leaving voicemail if they wait for the prompt to leave a voicemail.

No scamming on forums. Or period.
