iPhone 14pro camera changes skin colour

I upgraded to the iPhone 14pro as soon as it launched in Canada. However, only to be disappointed in how much it changes my skin colour after the photo is taken. I can see my beautiful bright melanin in the preview. The photo is taken and “auto enhanced” to this gross grey tone. It’s honestly insulting at the lack of inclusion this camera setting has, especially considering it cannot be turned off. Was this tested on a single black person before being forced on every Apple user?

I am very well versed in how to take a photo so please do not send me a tutorial on lighting , exposure settings etc.

Hello Tiannavera,

Do you notice differences with different modes of photos? For example, standard versus Portrait, or photos versus video? And does interior versus exterior lighting seem to be a factor?

As a test, take a photo with the ProRAW format - described here: Take Apple ProRAW photos with your iPhone camera - Apple Support - and let us know if the color adjustments still occur.

Cheers!
