Cannot clear history in Safari

For some reason, when I clear my browsing history in Safari on my desktop, two sites remain and will not allow me to delete them. Both addresses are google searches and contain "https://www/google.com/search?client=safari"

Does anyone know why this is?

Hello macgroupie,

If there's an item that won't clear from the browser history, check to see if you have any extensions added to your browser: Get extensions to customize Safari on Mac

If there's no extensions in Safari, try starting the computer in safe mode and see if you're able to fully clear the history there.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

You can also try scanning the computer for any adware/malware that may be installed with the Malwarebytes application: Mac Virus Scan | 2023 Mac Antivirus and Anti-Malware

Cheers!
