MacBook Air stuck on Apple Logo needs to boot from USB

Hi all,

My MacBook Air went through a botched software update (not me). It's stuck on the Apple logo and won't move further. I have a bootable USB Drive with Mojave that works. It will not boot from it either and still remains on the Apple logo.

I reset the SMC (power cable flickered, so I think that worked). I also tried resetting the NVRAM but there was no indication at all that even worked just silence.

Booting in Safe Mode - or ANY mode doesn't work. Same black screen with Apple Logo.

Any advice welcome. Thank you.
