Old iPad SIM card won't slip into new IPad ?

Can't tell what I'm doing wrong. Removed it from old mini iPad and trying to insert it in new iPad ninth generation. I removed and trying to insert with both iPads face down

You may want to have a look at the help topic below to possibly help you locate the exact way to insert your SIM card into the iPad.

Be sure the iPads both use the same type of SIM card.
