Thunderbolt No Longer Working - G-RAID External Drives

Hi everyone,

I have been having issues with my external drives connecting for some time .. perhaps tied with the Catalina upgrade - I don't quite remember. But I want to get them working (to mount).

-> I have a G-|RAID 8 TB and 3 G|RAID 4 TBs. They have always worked natively to the MAC until now.

-> My MAC:

  Model Identifier: iMac17,1

  Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Core i5

-> My OS: macOS 12.6.3 (21G419)

-> My 4 TB G|Raids also have a USB connection. When I connect the 4 TB through USB to my MAC, the drive mounts fine. However, if I connect through either Thunderbolt connections (I have 2) to the FW800, the drive won't mount.

-> If I connect the 8 TB through thunderbolt, it also won't mount. The 8 TB does not have a FW 800 or USB.

-> I drive a second monitor through either thunderbolt without a problem.

-> If I try to drive the monitor through the 8 TB drive using thunderbolt, the monitor will not start.

-> I tested the 8 GB w/thunderbolt to my wife's MAC. She has an older late 2013 running Big Sur. The 8TB drive using thunderbolt mounts on her MAC perfectly.

My MAC used to do all these things easily. I could daisy chain anything. Is there an issue with Catalina and driving external drives through Thunderbolt?

Thanks for your help.

Continuation of the story - I had left theG-RAID connected to the Thunderbolt iMAC connection. It was off. Today, I needed to get into it and I started the drive. I was about to plug in the USB and heard the drive as active. Voila, the drive connected. It 'fixed' itself? Who knows but this image shows it. I suppose the question is answered? LOL
