How to stop constant 'trust device?' nagging?

As I understand it, when connecting a device like iPhone or iPad, it's only supposed to ask you ONE TIME if you want to 'trust' that device (whatever that means), and if you connect that device again, it's not supposed to *ask* you again.

That's what Apple's support page says, anyway.

But I get this message *every single time* I connect any of my devices. Phone, Pad, Pod, it doesn't matter. I hit Trust, but the next time I connect that same device IT ASKS ME AGAIN. It's getting very annoying and I'd like it to stop.

So how do I go about doing that?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 16

Hi Babaganoosh,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. There are times when it's expected that you see this prompt every time you connect your device. For example:

• With iOS 16 and later, the alert message appears when you back up your device. If you turn on automatic backups, the alert message appears every time that you connect your device to the computer.

See more about that alert here: About the 'Trust This Computer' alert message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Thanks.
