Ancestry App - PLEASE HELP :(

Hello Everyone.


Each time I try to download the Ancestry app, it asks me for a credit card and won’t let me proceed. I’m already a paid member through the website. On top of that, it continues to attempt to take money off of my credit card (even though I’ve paid through the website). How can I go around this? How can I download the app and use it without entering my credit card info again or without them double billing me? Please help; using the browser on my phone for this site is an absolute nightmare.

Is it actually charging the card or is it just asking for it? Apps with subscriptions require the presence of a card in order for you to buy them or re-download them. The card won't actually be charged unless you owe money.


Are you using the same Apple ID that you used to subscribe originally?

Hi there! Thanks for your reply. Yes and it’s weird because it was fine until I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Now, it’s asking me for money BUT I already paid for my membership on the website and it’s active😕. In addition to that, the app works fine on my old phone (very old as in I upgraded over a year ago). I don’t want to use my old phone though😒 Yes, I’m using the same ID🫤
