Can I connect my iPad Pro 3rd generation to my iPhone phone 14 pro
iPad Pro (3rd generation)
Hello IzzyRocks,
I have had this question a few times myself. It seems that the internet has an answer for everything. Who am I to judge though, it brought you here. Bluetooth as a technology does allow the connection of two devices. Typically this can be used to transfer data (such as files or images), stream movies, stream music, etc. Connecting two iOS devices may be possible but why you want them to connect may not. It largely depends on version of the OS and what you intend to transfer.
Consequently airdrop is a feature that uses multiple technologies to identify, authenticate, and transfer files.
Here are some articles that may shed some light on this
How to use AirDrop on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in Control Center - Apple Support
If an app would like to use Bluetooth on your device - Apple Support
Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
I hope that this information is helpful. To give you a more precise answer, we would need to know what you intend to use bluetooth for though.
Thank you
Mikel S.

I am not asking how. I know how but it isn’t working and after a call to apple support, I was told it can’t be done. I don’t believe this so I am asking if it can be connected- now how. -
After clarifying that the rep says the 2 devices can’t be connected I double checked by stating -
This contradicts everyone I see on the web where it gives instructions on how to connect the two devices and some advantages. But clearly you have done your best.
Rep wrote - Unfortunately this kind of connections that you're suggesting is not posible, but I would really like for you to check the article about what airdrop is and how to use it, cause it will work for the same as a bluetooth connection, It has been a pleasure for me to help you today. We are here to help you every-time you need. Thank you for contacting Apple Support and have a nice rest of the day!

That is incorrect.
You are asking: “How do I connect my iPhone to an iPad using Bluetooth in order to accomplish some task?”
You have asked us to guess what that task might be.
From the two responses I have received, I am led to infer that pairing 2 apple devices using Bluetooth through the settings menu is somehow connected with the subsequent task I want to accomplish. My assumption was that I can pair them without any task specific intent. I realize there are many ways to accomplish sharing data across devices but somehow in the updates my settings became corrupted and I set out to restore them. I only wanted a yes or no if iPad and iPhone can in theory be connected via Bluetooth. After receiving that information, I can go on to restore whatever tasks I need to.
Again, pairing between Apple device is not supported. It never has been supported, and that is unlikely to change.
So, move on to that “subsequent task” and tell us what you are trying to accomplish.
edclange’s response is exactly right.

Nope. Pairing iPhone and iPad using Bluetooth is not supported.
My assumption was that I can pair them without any task specific intent.
Nope. But there is likely some other method to do … your task.

NO
Since that is the only question you wanted answered no one will tell you how to accomplish whatever task you wanted to accomplish by pairing 2 iOS devices. Suffice it to say there is no need to pair 2 iOS devices to perform any communication task, no matter what that task might be.
You’re asking how to do something (which is almost certainly the incorrect method).
Instead you should tell us what you’re trying to do.
Bluetooth pairing between Apple devices has never been supported.
Please answer the question that has already been asked multiple times. What is it you wish to accomplish?
Thank you for your posts. I appreciate it. Is there a way to close a discussion as I have all the information I need.
You already did by marking a post as best answer (I agree with your choice). In general threads aren’t closed until there have been no posts for 3 months.
