best printers for Mac Pro 2023

Best for me may not be best for you.

My house is solid masonry, and getting Wi-Fi working has been an extreme rite of passage that currently includes five access points and a Switch. AirPrint-only is a non-starter -- no appeal whatsoever. I want networkable-over-Ethernet printers that can be shared by every computer in the house. I want imaging in the Printer, Postscript or equivalent.

Many users have been forced to discard (non-Postscript, non-PCL) imaging-in-the-computer printers when the maker refused to update the imaging driver (that runs on the computer). This happened to hundreds of Printers when HP said no to providing 64-bit Drivers for their older 32-bit Drivers printers. It is likely to happen again when Intel software is deprecated and only Apple-silicon goes forward.

My printing needs occur in clumps. I may go quite a while without any printing, then want a lot all at once. Inkjet printers DO NOT work in that environment. They MUST be exercised every few weeks or the ink goes bad, requiring expensive and fiddly replacement. I have owned several inkjet printers, and if possible, I will NEVER own one again.
