Low volume in 2nd generation airpods

My airpods are working but are at a very low volume even when volume is turned up to full on my phone. Happened all of a sudden. I have reset the airpods following instructions on the website but it hasn't fixed the problem.

Re: Low volume in 2nd generation airpods

Resetting the AirPods was a good move, even though it hasn't helped.

Wondering if your phone has the newest update installed, so that the AirPods firmware is automatically also up-to-date.

You might want to check the volume level on the AirPods themselves:

Pause, skip, and adjust volume with your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

You may be able to fine-tune the settings on your phone:

Customize headphone audio levels on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

or

You might want to experiment with the different noise-control modes:

Change the settings of your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

AirPods Pro and AirPods Max Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode – Apple Support

Adjust the volume of sound effects for AirPods – Apple Support
