How do I turn off caps lock in Ventura (Mac OS 13.3.1)?
I found this thread while trying to find my answer: I'm not trying to turn Caps lock off, but rather how to turn off the caps lock NOTIFICATION that pops up on the bottom of my screen. Because it constantly is blocking text on the screen, often what I'm actually typing! It only lasts for 4 seconds, but it's really annoying. If anyone knows how to turn off this notification that plunks right in the center bottom quarter of your screen, please let me know.

You mean you want to completely disable the caps lock key? WHY?!!!
Anyway, your mac, your call, and it is just as easy to do as before, it simply is located in a different place, as are many of things in System Settings.
System Settings->Keyboard, then click Keyboard Shortcuts.
At the bottom left, click Modifier Keys:
Set the effect of pressing the Caps Lock key to "No Action".
There you are.
Hi Former_BMUGer,
It sounds like you're trying to disable caps lock on your Mac. Here's a resource that can help with mapping modifier keys: Change the behavior of the modifier keys on Mac - Apple Support
Take care.
Hello Former_BMUGer,
When testing on our end on macOS Ventura, these steps do work as expected. Let's see if you run into the same issue if you boot into safe mode, as this will help to isolate: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
Let us know if that helps.
Take care.

This no longer works in MacOs 13.3.1. The options do nopt appear when you click on 'Keyboard Shortcuts'.

It worked! I had gone to 'Keyboard' and clicked on 'Keyboard Shortcuts', but hadn't looked at the list of options on the left (the list in which 'Modifier Keys' appears).
Many thanks to all for your suggestions!

So, yes after some troubleshooting (noticing that it does not do it on my laptop keyboard) but only when I use my Logitech Ergo K860, it is a Logitech thing. I discovered a setting in the *main* window of Logitech options to take you to where you can disable notifications. Finally!
I have not seen this on my mac ever, so I imagine that it is either some modification, or a setting that one could adjust in Accessibility...
Do you have a third party keyboard, perhaps by Logitech? It seems that their utility has this feature, which you can disable in its settings.
