Some apps not transferring to my iPhone X I have an iPhone X running IOS 16.7.2 which claims to be not upgradable. I had temporarily erased it as I was sending it for repair but when I got it back and restored from backup, several apps including APPPLE own apps like mail, clock, FaceTime, calculator, weather, wallet just hang `waiting'. The same when I tried to reset and transfer via Quick Start from my previous iPhone -- exactly those same apps refuse to transfer. Deleting and trying to reinstall from the App Store just gives `cannot be installed try later' (and does not work later). I have tried Apple's advice about waiting a long time, reset and restore, reenter appleid, check wifi etc none of that help e.g. its not about the internet connection -- all the other apps transferred/reinstalled fine and I have super fast wifi -- its specific to these apps not generic problem. I believe it's some kind of bug at Apple's end where the versions of these apps on the App Store are not compatible with the older IOS version on my phone. In that case how can EVER restore these critical apps? Could I maybe clone the versions of these apps on my old iPhone (but this runs 15.7.1 and cant go above 15.8.1)?

Just updated to iOS 17.0.2 set up new iPhone 15Pro now list of Apps available for updates is MIA When I open the App Store and click on my Avatar (upper right of screen) the list of apps available to update is missing. Please don’t suggest: 1) I signed in with the wrong Apple ID, 2) restart the iPhone, 3) set the system date forward and then back to auto, 4) sign out then back into the App Store. 5) pull down on the list to refresh it. I’ve tried all those. I checked the versions of several apps that are ready to update on my iPhone 14Pro from which I transferred data. Sure enough, when the new iPhone 15Pro was set up and data transferred (directly not from an iCloud backup) the latest updates were downloaded. So the question is… will the apps keep updating even though the list of available updates is not visible? I plan to check back against the iPhone 14Pro where I can see the list, and keep track of updates. I’m considering doing a restore on the iPhone 15Pro then transferring all the data and apps from the iPhone 14Pro again. But that’s the definition of insanity (doing the same thing again hoping for a different result). I could transfer from the iCloud backup instead of directly from the iPhone 14Pro. Any suggestions?

No on Instagram since it requires at least iOS 13. Maybe on WhatsApp, but you will be pestered to update....if...it works.

Frankly, my opinion would be that it is not worth spending money to "repair" the old phone, but it's your call.
