Do Not Disturb

I have a 13 pro max, and am trying to disable do not disturb. Everything I search for on how to do so, indicates that there is a toggle to simply turn it off. I do not have that. I have tried to delete all the different types of settings, focus, do not disturb, etc. I just want the ability to manually turn it off and on as needed. Is that possible with this high tech device?? I am missing notifications and calls that I do not wish to miss.
