Kindle for iPad repeatedly freezes.

The Kindle for iPad app has repeatedly frozen leaving the screen unresponsive to anything I do. The only way I can fix it is to delete the Kindle app and redownload it from the Apple Store. Then I have to sign in again. Is there a permanent fix for this that’s easier than redownloading? I have plenty of memory so that’s not the problem.

says it needs iOS 14 which means if you are running it under iOS 9 that you must be using an old version, and sometimes old versions do not work will with the modern interfaces designed for the newer versions.
