Found Ipad

Found an Ipad a one of the buildings I take care of. Have asked the leaders in the congregations if they would ask if anyone is missing one. According to the leaders it has been sitting on the coatrack for months. I brought it back to my office and have had it in a drawer for two more months with no response. I charged it and reset it in hopes of getting some information to try and track down the owner. No luck but it indicates that someone has it set up on an activation lock. I have left it on in hopes that they might come looking but nothing.

Any one have suggestions for next steps? Is there a place I can put in the serial number to try get info?

Despite your best intentions, unless the iPad displays a message that identifies the owner, you’ll not be able to trace the owner. Apple will not assist in tracing owners - as to do so, they would likely transgress privacy legislation that operates in many countries.

The best advise is to turn the device into your local authorities - along with an explanation as to where and when the item was found.
