Find my stolen iphone

Hello.

I recently got hijacked and they took my iphone 13 pro max. I tried find it using find my iphone feature. But I was not able, it seemed like they had turned off the location feature. I only managed to report my iPhone stolen on iCloud. Of which later they managed to log my iCloud out of my phone. All I am now left with, is my iphone box.

Please advise. Is there a chance for me to still find my stolen iphone using my iphone IME number?

No. At this point there is no way to locate your iPhone using Find My or IMEI number.

If the thief managed to remove your device from your Apple ID (iCloud), then s/he had to have used your Apple ID and Password. Did you ever get an email or a text message stating that your iPhone has been found and then had you click on a link to enter your Apple ID and Password? If you did, then that is how the thief manages to compromise your Apple ID and Password through a fake website. S/he then uses those credentials to log out your stolen iPhone out of your Apple ID so that the iPhone can be used again.

That link was sent to you to capture your Apple ID and Password. Sorry, not only was your iPhone stolen but the thief was able to scam you into getting your Apple ID and Password.

The only good news in this story is that thief does NOT have your data and other information that you had on your iPhone. This is because to get to the stage of obtaining your Apple ID and Password, s/he had to delete all data on your iPhone and reset it back to Factory settings first.

The first thing that you should do is to change the Password to your Apple ID.
