Ventura 13.3.1 Update causes WiFi fail

I can't connect to wifi after updating to Ventura 13.3.1. Four other devices are connected to WiFi successfully but my MBPro fails after yesterday’s update to Ventura 13.3.1. When initially attempting to connect to a known network it would cycle connected then disconnected. I forgot the network and attempted to connect again and it now fails completely and show "The Wi-Fi network ... could not be joined". Nothing else has changed since I was able to connect to the network. I ran the diagnostics tool but it was unable to find the problem. I cleared the DNS cache, renewed the DHCP lease, and ensured the IPv6 configuration is set to “automatic.” I’ve restarted the machine. Nothing is working to resolve this problem and I am forced to hotspot from my phone as a temporary solution. Help, please!!?

I'm not sure if this has actually fixed it. However so far I'm seeing better results, including routable IPv4 on my Mac. I ran though these instructions about dropping the networking plist files which results in the OS having to rebuild them from scratch. I didn't both to compare before and after, I just dumped the old ones and let it do something new. So far no flickering and full networking has been function:

Quit out of all active apps on the Mac, including System Settings
Turn Wi-Fi OFF by going to the wi-fi menu bar (or Control Center) and toggling the wi-fi switch to the off position
Open Finder in macOS, then go to “Go” menu and choose “Go To Folder”
Enter the following file system path:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
Hit return to jump to that location, now locate and select the following files in that SystemConfiguration folder
com.apple.wifi.message-tracer.plist
NetworkInterfaces.plist
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist
preferences.plist
Backup the files and then delete them.
Reboot your mac
For me, wifi turned on and it remembered my SSID + Password, reconnected, all seems good so far.

It's been a few hours but so far so good.

Networking guy here - same thing happened with my MacBook Pro 14" M1, can no longer connect to certain networks, even after the APs were reset. Other machines have no issues. Can't connect even in recovery mode.

Yeah, if you don't have an ethernet cable connection then your best option is to call apple support so they can guide you through to do so manually. In the end, is their update causing the issue

Four days and more work later, I'm still having issues. My MB Pro connects to the internet just fine so long as I have the ethernet cable connected (through USB-C adapter). I've rebooted the router and my eero mesh. No VPN. I'd don't have much (any) time to devote to this nonsense and I've pretty much maxed out my tech-knowledge. Of all the devices in our home/ office my MB Pro is the only one that fails to connect by wifi.

I'm going to search how to re-install this update in case that's the issue. I'll also fool with the TCP settings.

I am having a similar issue. I can connect to WiFi when I start my Macbook Air M1. However, if I step away from the computer long enough for it to enter sleep mode, the internet disconnects, although it still shows that I am connected to the WiFi router. Despite the WiFi connection, it is then no longer possible to reconnect to the internet unless I restart the computer. When I restart the computer, I can then connect to the internet as before, but again, if the computer falls into sleep mode, then I must restart it to reconnect to the internet. This only started after I installed the Ventura 13.3.1 update this morning. The WiFi connection to the internet is fine on my iPhone. I tried forgetting the WiFi connection and then reentering the password as well as disconnecting and reconnecting. Neither worked. I'd be grateful for a fix to this. Thanks.

The issue was persistent enough for me that I chose to post this. It also occurred when I shut the computer's lid and then opened it back up. However, the issue seems to have resolved itself on its own. I don't have an explanation for this, which I realize is not helpful - but, well, perhaps it will also resolve itself for the other posters?

Same issue here. Can no longer connect to WiFi after 13.3.1 upgrade on my M1 Pro…have already tried rebooting laptop, router and the other fixes suggested here. This is the only device in my household that cannot get on the Wi-Fi. I have an M1 for work currently on my home network but my personal will no longer connect. Help?

Same here. I am using a Mac Mini M2pro. 2 exchanges due to issues with wifi and thunderbolts, however this one was working perfectly until it did the update to 13.3.1 and now the wifi does not work, it connects and disconnects every few seconds. Hoping it doesn't cause other issues however, how can this be fixed?

M1 Max, having Internet issues with wifi and ethernet (via usb) immediately after the 13.3.1 update several days ago. Tried the suggestion here and still the same. What's interesting in my scenario is that I can always cause the Internet to stop working if I try to upload a file to Google Drive. After a restart, the Internet will work for a bit and if I try to upload a file on Google Drive it hasn't been able to complete one file yet.

Imagine using the M1 Max as your main editing computer and having to waste so much additional time to transfer files to a more reliable Windows PC to upload files for clients because the Internet doesn't work on your MacBook.

This worked for me for a couple of days, but now the issues returned. I can't connect to my 10Gbe Thunderbolt Adapter or my regular Wi-Fi. I had to redo these steps to get everything working again... It doesn't seem to be a permanent solution.

I have the same exact issue with my Mac Book Air2. It's connects to known wifi connections but the internet access seems as is it's being blocked. Tried on 4 different networks already. Same issues on all. I can ping sites like Google and 8.8.8.8 but can't reached anything reaching anything on the internet. All services that require a network connection are blocked from the internet.

Holy Cow. After 2 days of trying everything on the internet, THIS GENIUS MOVE FIXED THE SLOW WWIIFI!!!

My MacBook Pro rebooted 3 times while I nervously waited, and voila, my speed went from 5 Kbs to 160 Kbs !!

The problem WAS with Ventura not clearing out their garbage!

Same issue here, running Mac M1 updated fee days ago to 13.3.1 only using IPv4 and reboots work for about an hour before loss of internet. Routers working and done speed tests?
