Lost Airpods 3rd Gen inside case

Hi all. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but... I've misplaced by 3rd Generation AirPods, with them inside the case.

FindMy is tracking them to my office and, with me at home, is updating the location periodically (ie. last seen is currently 1 minutea ago). I've not been in the office for a few days, and last time I was there wasn't able to connect to them.

Q - what are they connecting to today to be able to ping their location? And once back in the office is there any way that I can try and connect and locate them?
