Unwanted applications showing up on the dock when I open them 🙉🌸

Hellooo 🥹💛

I have certain applications that I would not want to show up on the dock when I open them. An example of such an application is WhatsApp or Telegram.

I like to use those applications on my breaks, but when I'm working, I love to keep my Dock super simple with only the applications needed. Especially applications such as WhatsApp distract me quite a lot.

I know I can get them out of the Dock by doing the following: Hold Control and click the app icon -> Choose Quit from the Menu -> Hold control and click the icon again -> Choose options from the menu -> Choose remove from dock.

But this is five whole steps for one application, and when I want to close many applications it might take something like thirty seconds, which is honestly quite tiring 😅 Since I usually have a short break at least once every hour, I might end up spending something like hour a month in doing this, which I could've used to cure cancer or create a time machine etc.

Since it is so fast and simple to access any application via Spotlight search (for example this opens WhatsApp: Command + Spacebar + w + Enter), it would actually be a lot better if WhatsApp, or actually most of the applications didn't even show up on my dock when I open the app.

Is this possible to achieve? 🥹

If not, is there a faster way to remove applications from the dock?

Thank you very much for your beautiful help! 💛

Ps. Also I think that it's a sort of privacy issue too, for example if I had an application that I didn't want everyone close to me to know about you know haha.

Pps. Photo of me attached to this message to bring you some context :D

What I have done to make working from home on my Mac easier is to set up a separate user account. In a fit of originality, I call it "Work". I have fast user switching enabled so it's very fast to switch between the two. It's even faster when I'm wearing my Apple Watch.

Having a separate account means I can set up my work account with just the things I want to see and nothing that distracts me.
