text message goes as email

I am seeing up my new iPhone 12 mini and when I sent an email to someone that cannot receive iMessages, it gave me the option to send as SMS, but I accidentally hit send as email instead and now when I text this person it only goes to them as email. I want to switch it back to SMS messaging but I cannot find it. Can someone help me? Thank you in advance.

Hello Mamamouse4X!

I’ve had this issue myself. Here’s what you should do to fix it:

Go to Contacts, and tap on the Contact you’re having this issue with.
Long press this contact’s Message icon, and then select the “phone” option, or whatever option it is that has the phone number. You will also see an email option.
