family apple music doesn’t work

why do i have to purchase apple music if my family member has the family account

Firstly make sure that the family member purchased the Family subscription plan, besides he/she need to share the subscription with family. To check it on the device of Organiser using iOS 16 or later:

Settings -> Family -> Subscriptions

In the “Shared” list you must see the Apple Music.

If it was so, try this steps.

Take(or ask owner) the family member device(with problem):

Settings -> Music -> scroll down -> click on Apple ID -> Log out

than restart the device and after Log in again to your account. It should resync the accounts and make it work on member device.
