I've been getting connection issues with my Sky/Yahoo email account in Mac Mail, it sometimes works but mainly stops and I get a warning triangle next to the account inbox! Is there a fix for this or is it more to do with Yahoo? Strange that all my other email accounts are working?

Although is is specifically mentioned " If POP it will require a PW issued by Yahoo on their site. " it ay also required this same Password from Yahoo for IMAP configurations too
I can not speak Directly to this as I do not use Yahoo as mail a server.

Suggest using a free Third Party e-mail Client like https://www.thunderbird.net/en-CA/
Configure the application ONLY with the Problematic e-mail account
If still having the same or similar issues, then it would be reasonable to conclude the Real Issue is not Apple Mail but elsewhere
Any VPNs or Third Party Security Software installed and used on this computer ?
Any Disk Cleaners or Disk Optimizers installed and used on this computer ?
What does " Connection Doctor " report regarding the problematic e-mail account(s)?
I have no issues using Yahoo. Is this a POP or IMAP account? If POP it will require a PW issued by Yahoo on their site.
Seems like many are having issues with Apple mail both in Monterey and Ventura. I had an issue where many emails showed "no content". I finally decided to erase my drive, reinstall the OS and then migrate my files. Now all OK. Are you sure you have a solid network connection?
I’m using imap, deleted account and added account as per yahoo’s instructions and still not working properly! It started to work earlier for about 5 minutes then went offline again. Starting to think it’s something wrong with Mac mail?

I've tried these exact settings with the new Yahoo password and it didn't work at all. I found out as my email is originally a sky account I have to use smtp.tool.sky.com & imap.tools.sky.com, still no joy?
I'm beginning to think it's Yahoo's way go getting rid of the sky emails!
I use the same settings on my iPhone which never disconnects.
I've fresh installed onto a new Mini M2 Pro, although I was getting the same issue with my old Intel Mac Mini. I was hoping a new install would have helped? My internet connection is very stable at 329Mbps.

No VPN, Third Party Security, Disk Cleaners or Optimizer software installed.
Connection Doctor reports that the SMTP Connection and login to server succeeded but IMAP Trying to log in to this IMAP server failed. Verify that the username and password are correct. Both are definitely correct, as sometimes it will connect but the majority of the time it fails. I've checked with Yahoo that all my settings are correct as well.
I have two other email accounts on the same mac, Google & Exchange, which both connect 100%.
Yahoo does not require a PW generated by them for IMAP accounts (only POP).
yes I still had to use my original password, deleted all yahoo/sky setting today and installed again but still not working, must be an apple mail problem as I can use the email in other apps
Perhaps not but the information was provided from Yahoo - go figure
As of this writing, I see not evidence of the OP attempting the previous suggestion to try Thunderbird on a trail bases
