4 digit authentication code required of child in "Family"

Im the owner of Family account and child is a "Member" and periodically is asked for a 4 digit code (from prior responses by community i think this is an authentication code). How does my child find the 4 digit code? Does the code stays the same over time?

i can't find the code I'm trying to set up a family account but it won't send me the code. It keeps saying that it's sending it to a trusted phone number or device, I double checked that the phone number attached to the account is correct but I'm still not getting any codes. Not in my email either. Help!
