Sure. It happens sometimes - seemingly for random reasons. Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider can have the message reset if they can verify that the camera is the original.
While I've purchased many Apple devices at Best Buy, I would never ever let anyone there do a diagnostic or work on any electronics.
I don't know if you could get a second opinion at an Apple Store. In my experience any evaluation gets entered in Apple's database.
No not at all. Brand new and in an OtterBox case since purchase
Apple set me up an appointment with Best Buy and they said they could do nothing for it.
