homekit - Home App

I may have found a bug in HomeKit. From time to time my devices stop responding in the Home App. The latest incident had 2 Roku Streaming sticks, 1 Lutron Switch, an Eve Camera and a Logitech Circle View Camera stop responding. The same lack of response was noted on 5 Apple devices all running v16.4.1. The primary device is an iPhone 14 Pro.

By sheer luck I may have found the problem. I restarted my iPhone 14 Pro and as soon as it was shut down, I started getting notifications on my other devices that response had been re-established. When my iPhone 14 had fully restarted, I started the Home App and sure enough all devices were responding. This is the third time I have been able to replicate this.

This happens with me too - my EveCams drop offline or go into 'idle' mode. The issue seems to be related to having multiple devices capable of running a Home app, in my case a MBP, iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and an ATV (the HomeKitHub). Each time HomeKit is updated through OS updates, I hope for a cure . . . but not so far. In fact, since the new HomeKit architecture was released (all my Apple devices have the latest OS versions), Geofencing in HomeKit is worse: specifically, I get random notifications that 'Someone has arrived home' when I am miles away (only I am the only person who is added in Home Settings - I live on my own!). I have posted a version of this to the feedback page as Mike_P1 suggested.
