iPhone 11 on iOS 16.4.1 keeps dropping call. Works fine if used with AirPods or Wired Earbuds

Hi,

My iPhone 11 updated to iOS 16.4.1 keeps getting disconnected mid call if used without AirPods Pro or wired Apple earbuds. Earlier I had to put the phone in loudspeaker mode to prevent disconnection of the call. However now this also doesn't work. I have to use AirPods Pro or wired Apple earbuds to talk else the phone gets disconnected within 1-2 minutes. I have also observed sometimes after getting disconnected the phone will itself redial the same person with whom I had been talking, without any prompts or display showing 'calling' on the phone screen.

I am using an eSIM. Please advise if I do network reset or wipe my phone clean, whether my eSIM will get deleted. This is the only thing left to try.

Really frustrated. Please advise!

Call dropping is a carrier-specific issue with or without AirPods.

I travel a lot across the country and I am facing this issue irrespective of my location. Carrier settings are up to date. Why the call doesn't drop if I plug in my wired headset or AirPods if carrier network is the issue here?

I am not using WiFi Calling.

I do not keep my AirPods out of the charging case always. I take them out only when I have to use them and then I put them back in the case.

Call Audio Routing is set to 'Automatic'.

I am facing disconnections when I use the phone normally. The moment I start using wired earplugs or AirPods I don't face any issue of call drop even if I talk for 2 hours.

Hi. Not resolved yet! Not sure how it’s a network issue as i face this problem irrespective of my location and I travel a lot throughout the country. Also I am using eSim, don’t know how it can be a Sim issue.

My frnd with iphone 11 is also facing the same prblm. Call is disconnected like within 2 minutes. But for loudspeaker she can talk for hours without fail. She has replaced the sim, reinstalled the ios with recovery mode. Still facing the same prblm.

Did you get a resolution to this?

My calls drop after 1 to 3 minutes. My carrier says it is a hardware or software issue and Apple say it’s a network or Sim issue.
