I have a MacBook Air M2 2022 purchased in Brazil. I am giving it to my wife and returning it to factory settings as a new device. However when turning it on, instead of going through the registration and install routine, it asks for a wifi connection not showing any wifi sources.
How do I force it to go through the normal installation routine?

Restart the Mac, it may have not correctly initialized the Wi-Fi card for some weird reason.
If it still won't locate any Wi-Fi networks, take it to an Apple Store to get it looked at.

The problem turned out to be that the wifi icon was so dim that I could not see it.

It needs Wi-Fi or a wired internet connection at least to go through the setup process.
Make sure you are near a Wi-Fi router you can use and have the password for.

THANK YOU I have been trying to figure this out and couldn't see the wifi symbol and only found it after seeing your post. It was far to dim to see on my laptop too!
