Same issue here. However the issue appear not for all i Call. Its both for me and the wife. We have the same 4 callers where the issue is present. The entertainment system just updated by the car dealer. But issue remain the same. My conclusion is that it Might be the Apple carplay from this testing

2 different phones on Apple carplay with same issue. Using the Bluetooth connection with the car (not carplay) nothing is wrong. However its weird its the same callees we have the issue with

I have this same issue. I used CarPlay on two Outbacks ('18 and '21) and both times the phone was plugged in through the USB port. I now use CarPlay wirelessly with a "24 Ascent.

I make a call using CarPlay (after listening to music or a podcast with no issues) and the person answers the phone, we talk for 20 - 30 seconds, and then I can hear them but they cannot hear me.

To solve this, I hang up and call back and it generally works (although today it did not solve the issue), or I disconnect the phone and use the speaker on my iPhone and then they can hear me again.

Bluetooth and wireless are both turned on, the phone connects fine to CarPlay, but this happens often and is very concerning.

3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this post

Did you ever find a solution to this? This is happening to me and nothing works. I can do everything with CarPlay except the caller can’t hear me.
