Carplay after 16.6

Since I updated my iPhone to ios 16.6 my calls through my carplay show I am on them and the person I am calling can hear me though I cannot hear them. Text and everything else seems to be working just fine. Any ideas on why or what to do. I have removed my carplay on my phone and reinstalled and it still does not work.

If you are experiencing issues with your iPhone 12 Pro Max and CarPlay where you can't hear the person you are calling, but they can hear you, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

  1. Make sure the volume on your iPhone and your car's audio system is turned up. It's possible that the volume is too low or muted, causing you not to hear the other person.
  2. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor glitches. Restart your iPhone and disconnect and reconnect CarPlay to see if the issue persists.
  3. Ensure that the audio is set to play through the correct output (e.g., car speakers). Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, select your car, and then check the audio settings. If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support (IN)
  4. Make sure your iPhone and CarPlay system have the latest software updates installed. Outdated software can cause compatibility issues.
  5. CarPlay relies on Bluetooth connectivity. If there's an issue with the Bluetooth connection, it could affect audio. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your iPhone to your car's Bluetooth system. Wireless interference: Power lines, radio or television. transmitters, transformers and other electronic devices may cause noise on the phone line. --> Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless ...
  6. Reset network settings: Resetting network settings can sometimes resolve communication-related issues. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that this will remove saved Wi-Fi passwords and other network settings.

Always make sure to drive safely while troubleshooting your CarPlay system. If necessary, pull over to a safe location before attempting any changes.

Please get the car audio checked through a reputed car dealer.

My CarPlay has 3 different volumes 1) Guidance 2) Audio/Calls 3) Radio. So I found out that the reason I could not hear calls but everything else was working was because when I was on calls that audio was at zero after the upgrade and I didn’t know it reset it to zero when it didn’t change for guidance or radio. So just make sure that when you are on calls to have volume on CarPlay and phone is up.
