What is the method for adding my AirPods Pro 2 to 'Find My' using an iPhone 7 with iOS 15.7.5?

I have tried this several times through my iPhone 7, but I couldn't get an answer. I think it requires a higher software version than iOS 15.7.5, which is the latest version for my iPhone 7. One of my family members has an iPhone 12 with software higher than iOS 16. I'm wondering if I can use their device to connect my AirPods to 'Find My' using my Apple ID, and then log out and log back into my original account on my iPhone 7 to see my AirPods on 'Find My'.

Alternatively, do you think I can get help at an official Apple store instead of going through this complicated process?

(By 'official Apple store', I mean a physical retail store owned and operated by Apple that you can visit in person for assistance.)

I would appreciate someone's response.
