One airpod pro hissing in transparent mode

Hissing and high-pitched sounds coming from your AirPods Pro are likely a result of dirt buildup on the microphone. You can fix this by brushing the little black microphone grille with a soft toothbrush for about a minute. The hissing will go away if this is what is causing the hissing.

Mine did the same. I got a Q-tip and alcohol and rubbed the microphone screen vigorously and it fixed it!

It is a shameful product indeed. Many people I know gets the same annoying issue out of a sudden. The right ear plug starts with this absurd static noise when ANC is on. How is that possible, Apple? I don't have that issue 2 years after using Beats or JBL products. Never buy an AirPods again!

I tried cleaning, resetting a hundred times, and even getting to the repair service who said it is a HARDWARE issue very well known by Apple, but there will be no support when the warranty is done. Shame on you, Apple.

I’ve similar issue. After 18months of minimum usage, my right ear pod pro is giving loud hissing noise unless I turn off both transparency and noise cancellation. Apple technician at genius agrees that it’s hardware issue but declines to repair it as it is out of warranty 🙁. I tried with both iPhone and iPad. Same issue. I reset air pods multiple times. But no use. Any one has any solution?

It seems Air pod pro gen 1 has these issues. But only certain serial numbers are covered by this . Technician told me that my serial number is not covered by it, strange !! First time, I felt Apple is not standing by its product, AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues - Apple Support.

Mine make a very strong hissing noise in right ear only in noise cancelling mode and even louder in transparency, but nothing when in off mode. cleaning didn’t work at all

Same stuff, appeared while updating the firmware somewhere in '23. Probably a new "glitch" in the system like the one with the batteries being drained. Probably Apple wants you to buy the new gen :). Wouldn't be a surprise to see that

Right airpod pro hissing when I used both of them.. but if only using the right airpod it will be gone. Then when I turned off the noise cancellation and transparency , the hissing sound is also gone.. looks like its a firmware issue.

Just read your post and thought I’d try it. The alcohol and Q-tip actually worked. Problem fixed in less than a minute. I’ve only been listening to this white noise sound for 4 months. I was seriously considering investing in a new pair.

Same problem. i had clean the airpod, but still nothing change. it have white noise like old TV when i turn on the  transparent mode. And same at the right pic.

I tried this and it works sometimes or it makes the hissing sound a lot quieter, which is better than nothing!
