Apple ID

When I sign in I get a message saying someone in Newcastle Upon Tyne is trying to sign in to your account. I am in Scotland.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.6

The location is based on your IP address, which in turn is based on your ISP. Normally that means it's not an exact location as it uses your ISPs regional centers or internet hubs for use location, which may not be near you.


In your case, the hub, or distribution center is in Newcastle. As long as you know you were trying to log in, it's fine.
