Right after update to macOS Ventura play/pause buttons stop working, what can I do to fix it?

Try booting into Safe Mode then restart normally. Sometimes that will fix anomalies.

Mouse buttons (middle, side, double click) remapped after software update Hey, I have a weird problem. After the last software update (macOS 10.15.4) my mouse buttons has just remapped and doesn't work properly now. The middle click turns off/on system sound instead of opening a link in a new tab. Side buttons, that previously functioned as back/forward website tab navigation, now function as back/forward songs nav. Double click button pauses/resumes music/video. So basically, everything seems like remapped to control the system sound. I'm using gaming mouse from Yenkee. Previously, before the update, it was fine. Moreover, I've tried to remap those buttons with tools like MacMouse Fix or BetterTouchTool, but it just not "recognize" those buttons as a mouse buttons (witch is really weird).

Pause/Play Key Not behaving in El Capitan I'm not entirely sure whether this happened as a result of the El Cap update, but the pause/play key on my Macbook Air stopped behaving correctly. It used to only affect either spotify or itunes, so while I was browsing chrome and found a video, I could pause my music with the key, and hit space to play the video. Now, the pause key only affects the video, even if I have my spotify window open. I've seen solutions that say chrome extensions could be hijacking the function, but I don't have any that do so, and I can't figure anything out. Any suggestions?

media keys Hello there, my media keys "play/pause" , "forward", "backward" do not work anymore under Mojave 10.14.5. I already googled a little and mostly found this possible issue: https://major.io/2014/07/30/playpause-button-stopped-working-in-os-x-mavericks/ But: I do not have Chrome installed. Does anyone have any idea what's could be wrong? Greets, Michael
