Apple Gift Card for In App purchases
Child received and redeemed an Apple Gift Card but cannot use it to purchase in app items. We use Family Sharing. How can he set up to use this way?

How was it redeemed? If redeemed to his own Apple ID, and the balance is shown on his account, it will automatically be used to pay for any purchases he initiates.

Verification of the Family Organizer's payment method may still be required, but it will not be charged if the balance covers the purchase entirely. Also, if Ask to buy is turned on, authorization by the Family Organizer may be required before the purchase is allowed.
Also, make sure the balance covers the purchase price + any sales tax required in your region. Any excess will be charged to the Family Organizer's payment method.
