How to access MacBook Pro when keys fail? Locked out of my macbook pro. Keys are not working. No water spill. Keys just stopped working. Well, certain Keys stopped working, not all of them. How do I get in? Someone said log in as a guest and change the password settings or something like that. Like turn it off. I don't see an option to log in as a guest. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If the built-in keyboard is faulty, then use an external keyboard.

If you reset the password while using a faulty keyboard, then reset the password again using a good external keyboard.

In case you may have an issue with third party software, try booting into Safe Mode to see if you can log in.
