I've had the same att email address for 20 years and it's so compromised with junk, I need to create a new email. I don't yet have an iCloud address so would like to use that option. However, I have spent a solid HOUR trying to come up with an email address (name@icloud.com) and everything, and I mean everything, is taken. How can I create a new email if there are no options left?

You may need to try something that isn't your name. Although many people use their name or some version of it as their email address, there is no requirement that you do so. My last name is complicated and I never use it in an email address. Or, try a combination of your name and something like "erickfromperthamboy" or "erickthewallpaperhanger", with numbers if required. My given name has a meaning in another language that is the name of a flower. I use that sometimes. Or a pet's name. Or the name of the street on which you grew up.

It's fixed! I called Apple support and a super nice guy walked me through several steps and we finally got it going. It wasn't that there are no name options....it's that my account had a bug that wouldn't complete the process. Signed out of my Apple ID and signed back in...new email created. Thanks to all who tried to help me.
You can also use the first and last name as very short sentence added with iCloud domain , make sure from a single device maximum limit of creating an Apple ID is three , the Apple ID should not be repeated .
There are plenty of options available. I simply use my name as it is not common. Others may have to get creative like John.smith81009 etc.
