I was screen recording a sound effect video on YouTube, and right when I started to screen record, I heard random noises until I stopped the recording. I don’t know if this is something with YouTube or my phone. I’m paranoid that a hacker or someone was spying on me and I happened to record their microphone or something. Can someone please confirm if this is a bug or not?

It likely was you or your background! Prior to screen recording, if you press and hold on the screen recording icon, there is an icon labeled microphone. Make sure that is unselected, then try recording again. If you would like to keep your current recording, you can always disable the audio in the photos app under the editing menu.

If you heard unexpected audio while screen recording, is it possible that these sounds were made in the video you were screen recording? If you screen record another app or function of your iPhone, does this also occur? That will allow us to narrow down the source of this behavior.

I was thinking that some random video might’ve autoplayed and that the random audio was coming from that. This didn’t happen on other apps.
