Hey there everett252,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.
So we understand the issue correctly, when trying to update an app you're requested to enter the password for another Apple ID, is that correct?
If so, was this Apple ID originally used to download this app on your iPad? If it was, then this would be expected behavior and you would need to enter the password for the Apple ID that was used to download the app in order to update. If unable to enter the password needed, you can uninstall the app and then redownload it using your current Apple ID; however, we do want to let you know that the app would need to be purchased again if there is a cost.
Let us know if that's able to help.
Have a great day!
