Sharing playlists limited to only 300 songs?

I have created a playlist on both my iphone and Macbook of songs well over 1700. I can see all 1700+ songs on all my shared devices and on devices belonging to my family sharing members. However, when sharing a link to other people outside of that, they can only see 300 songs from my playlist. The same thing occurs when I share the playlist with my followers on Apple music. Is there any reason for this and how do we resolve this as I am a keen music lover with many many songs that I want to share with my friends and followers.

Hi Chris,

I have exactly the same issues. I have various playlists I want to share with other Apple Family members (all in the same family). I have only "Apple Music" "cloud status" songs (so no uploaded or matched) and the lists all have more then 300 items. Some lists up to more then 5.000 songs. When I share any of these playlists the link only shows the (exactly) first 300 songs. Even a list with 350 songs only shows the first 300 when I share using the link.. This must be a set maximum, but I can't find any confirmation about this. Or maybe there is another way to share these playlists in full within the family members....

I am having this exact problem, and I know for a fact that it just started happening in the last few months. The playlist I want to share has about 1000 songs, all from Apple Music (I.e., none that were purchased/synced from iTunes or limited to local copies in my personal library.) Only the first 300 — in the same order, with no omissions — appears in the link I share, which is proof that Apple Music is cutting off the rest for whatever reason. I'm sure Chris_V89 had the best intentions, but the response seems to misunderstand the issue. It's weird and frustrating. Why are we allowed to build large playlists if we're not allowed to share them in their complete form?

Hey there Mpho21,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

To get started, do these playlists include songs that were purchased from the iTunes Store or synced from iTunes or a computer, and from Apple Music?

If you have a playlist mixed with Apple Music downloads and music synced from iTunes, this could be what is causing some of the songs to be missing. If you check the songs that are missing from the receivers end, see if that lines up with the songs that were synced to your iPhone from iTunes or purchased from the iTunes Store.

If the issue only occurs with songs that were synced to your iPhone or purchased from the iTunes Store, see if you can locate them in the Apple Music catalog to replace them so it appears when you send the playlist to a friends and followers.

Keep us updated on the results.

Best regards.
