What happens if you don't have a header at the top? All I see is the list of people and no "Add contact" button.

How do you add a contact to a group message list. The article says there should be a header at the top but I don't have one, and there's no "Add contact" button.

Thank you, but there's no add contact button at the bottom of my list or anywhere else that I can see. It may be due to the fact that not all of the contacts in the list use iphones. I've read that's an issue.

Yes. You can only add contacts to a Group message where everybody is using an iPhone. If there there are non Apple devices in play, you need to create a new Group Message.

See the "If you can't add or remove someone in a group message" section at the bottom of the support document you posted from.

* You can only add someone to a group message if they're using an Apple device. If you want to add someone to a group message but they're using a non-Apple device, you need to create a new group message. That message will use SMS/MMS by default since someone is using a non-Apple device.
