Not sure how to describe this but basically my new Mac mini M2 isn't showing it's icon... see picture.

That's exactly what I have done, what I'm asking is does anyone know why the Mac has a question mark for it's icon, all my other Mac's have an icon relevant to the variant, ie iMac has an iMac icon , Mac mini etc but this is a question mark as if it doesn't know what computer it is!
What exactly are you trying to do?
If you are trying to access the Mac mini from another Mac, what happens when you click the Connect As... selection?
I'm waiting for my Apple screen to arrive so in the meantime I am setting the Mac mini up using screen sharing. Even connected and screen shared the icon is always a question mark whereas all my other Macs show they're proper relevant icon. It's not important in the big scheme of things but just puzzled as to why!
Yeah' I'm worried about the initial setup part without a display.
Personally if I was waiting for a display, I would have used an old Monitor or HDMI TV to do the Initial setup and then access the new Mac mini via Screen Sharing.
