Update iPhone 6 Plus to iOS 14

There are different ways to ensure the highest iOS that your device will support is installed on your device.

When updating, your device will update to the highest version currently available that it will support, or it will just say it is up to date (and can't go any higher) and won't install anything. Apple indicates ( Unable to update my iPhone 6 Plus from 12… - Apple Community ) I need to point out the obvious and state that if you want to run a higher system version than your current device will run, that you need to buy a newer device.

- An iPhone 5S, 6, or 6plus, can only update to iOS 12.5.7

iOS 12.5.7 is as far as the iPhone 6 can go. You have reached the end of the road.

iOS 14 is no longer available, even if your phone could handle it.

An iPhone 7 can go to iOS 15

An iPhone 8 or higher can go to iOS 16

The iPhone 6 can be updated to iOS 12.5.7, no further.
